Nursing pads

New mother of two Stacey asks, "has anyone heard of Lily Padz for breastfeeding moms? Like them? Hate them? Do they work?"

  1. I have never used them personally but I had a girlfriend who tried them. She said that although they were effective she didn't like the suction cup feeling.

With my first pregnancy I used the reusable cloth nursing pads, you know, trying to be green. They were terrible.

With my second I used Lansinoh disposable nursing pads (they're in a purple box). I LOVED them. They are super thin and amazingly absorbant.

  2. Oh I tried those, but I produced to much milk for them. It would come out still and they would slide off. I would say try them if you dont leak a lot, but isnt that what you are trying to prevent? haha

  3. I tried them, but didn't really like them. I have heard of people thinking they are GOLD, but they just weren't for me. I would get a funky smell going on when I used them, BLAH!!! They are a great idea, but just didn't cut it for me.

  4. I have tried a few different ones, but my favorite are still the Lansinoh disposable nursing pads, they soak up more and fit better.

  5. My sister used those and she LOVED them, but only if you were going to where them for a short period of time - like if you were going out to eat or with some friends and wanted to wear a regular bra with out nursing pads showing through - she said if she wore them to long she would get clogged ducts and it lead to mastitis a few times - I too used the lansinoh disposable nursing pads and loved them .

  6. Real quick: Make sure you always air out your nipples. Using any nursing pad all the time, even the ones that breath, can lead to thrush. From experience, you don't want thrush!
