She writes, "I want to know if anyone has a CONVERTIBLE car seat.....Ky is a chubby monkey and will grow out of his infant seat really soon. So for Christmas he is gettin a new one and i would like help choosin a good one."
She also wants Christmas toy/gift ideas that she can give to Grandparents and family members. Cute little Kyler is 6 months so toys/gifts that are 6 months to one year would be perfect.
I HAVE A CONVERTABLE CAR SEAT WE GOT AT BABIES R US FOR MY DAUGHTER, THEY SAVE MONEY SO U DONT HAVE TO KEEP BUYING A DIFFERENT CAR SEAT. THE BEST I READ ABOUT IN CONSUMER REPORT IS GRACO.
ReplyDeleteA great gift is any kind of riding/walking push toy for when they're learning how to walk.
ReplyDeleteWe have a graco convertible (the Graco My Ride) car seat too Marc...and it is nice. It can be rear facing to 40 lbs and forward facing to 65. Bridge LOVED it when we switched him a few months back. You'll have to check it out next time I see you.
ReplyDeleteI'm a diehard Britax fan and they have several different convertible options. We got the Marathon for my first baby - paid $207 on sale for it. We just bought the Roundabout for my second baby that is due in January and got it in Onyx for $144, manufactured 3 weeks before we received it. (You need to pay attention to sale prices on them because some are manufactured a full year earlier and are being cleared out because you don't have as long to use the seat anymore.) We did have to buy a pair of shoulder cushion pads for the Roundabout as it is pretty basic and didn't come with those. They ran us $10 and my older daughter cried when we tightened the Roundabout down (because the straps dug into her shoulders) and never has done that with the Marathon. Bottom line, I would vote for the Marathon (especially since he is bigger and it goes up to 65 lbs forward facing) but if you are looking to save on cost, you could make the Roundabout work - but you will end up getting a full harness booster a littler earlier because it only goes up to 40 pounds forward facing. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the walking toys. They can use them before they are able to walk on their own and even after. Hallie still loves hers! Plus anything that is like a piano. Kids love pushing the keys and having it make sound.
